Sunray Farm & Guest
Lodge Situated
on the hill tops overlooking the sea side villages of Kei Mouth, Morgan Bay
& Haga Haga ; the
farm cascades towards the Great Kei River and the distant sea. ·
The Kei River in isiXhosa is called the
Inciba River or The Big River (Makhulu
Kei) This
is home to a family who is passionate about living their dream –Julie-Anne breeds horses,
trails horses & competes on horses – Clint is a professional hunter; He
walks & stalks with the bow and rifle, and whenever he can he is
launching his ski boat to go deep sea fishing! This is a family business, their son Branden is
also a professional hunter and deep sea ski boat skipper and Ashley is an
accomplished horse rider who is being groomed to assist with the horse riding
holidays. The
environment and their great love of the African bush is why they invite you to
join them – to share their passion and their lifestyle Farm House Accommodation This

house hospitality in a setting that allows guest to relax de-stress and
escape their everyday life. Our guest room has its own private shower and toilet, three single beds, and a small sitting area. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided. The
guest room is suitable for visitors on
The Loft Part
of the original farm house, the loft is a home away from home for our
guests participating on our “Gap
year & volunteering holidays”. This is dormitory backpacker type
accommodation. A
bedroom loft has been created in the high pitched roof and sleeps 4 comfortably
and 2 down stairs. There is one other small bedroom downstairs, and 2 large
bathrooms with showers. All meals are
provided at the main homestead. All bedding is provided, but not towels. The
lounge opens onto a patio and the view is endless……. The loft is equipped
with a TV, DVD & Hi fi. It is equipped
with a small fridge, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. Meals at the farm Meals
are informally taken in the main homestead dining room around a large
farmhouse dining table that can seat up to 12 people. Breakfast is simple, fresh fruit, yogurts,
bread, cereals and fresh farm milk and a selection of jams and spreads. Lunch is salads and cheese on fresh
homemade bread, maybe some sort of bake and a big pot of homemade soup. Dinner is our main meal of the day and
usually consists of some sort of meat dish or roast prepared from game hunted
by Clint. Fresh fish is a treat when
the guys have been out fishing and we always have fresh veggies and a desert
for those with a sweet tooth. This
is delicious home cooking, made fresh everyday; mostly sourced from produce
from our farm or from our neighboughs. Guest are
welcome to bring their own wine and beer. Horizon House We have a second farm house
situated on the highest point of Sunray Farm.
It offers a stunning 300 degree view of the surrounding area and the
distant sea. We are in the process of
stripping the house down and completely restoring it. We envision this to be a 3 or 4 star self
contained farm house for eco enthusiast that want to escape for a while. Like all things on a farm these things take time and
money, so we will keep you posted as to when it is complete and available to
hire!
Hunting at Sunray Farm & in the
surrounding Walk
the valleys and the bush veld of the hills of the Our
conservation efforts have made our farm the ideal environment for bow
hunting. The game is never disturbed and it has become ‘tame’ to Clint
walking the farm. The wart hog are plentiful and we have a couple of
characters who visit around the paddocks. Our farm also has Bush Buck, Bless
buck, Impala, Kudu and many other animal species that occur naturally in the
area. We are privileged to be able to hunt on neighboring farms and local
game reserves. Email

The
Sea and fishing is Clint’s great passion and having an excuse to go out in his
ski boat “Sea Star” is only stopped by bad weather! Clint
will take you out deep sea fishing, launching from the Great Kei River
Mouth. The
Launch is tide and weather dependant and can either be a hair rising dash
through huge breakers to the back line or a quiet skip across the white
water. This is one of the most unpredictable launches in the country,
but the rewards of a fabulous catch are worth it! The years of
experience of doing this launch makes Clint a favored skipper who has shown
many safely through the mouth. Email

have an extensive network of trails and tracks that meander through the
farm. Walk freely through stunning indigenous bush and forests
searching for wild game; from the huge Kudu to the tiny blue Duikers.
Warthogs, Impala, Bush Buck and Bless buck roam the farm, and you will bump
into an Nguni cow or two! The bird
life is prolific; Crested Cranes, Fish Eagles, hawks, herons, Laurie, the
list is impressive. Fly-fishing
and bass fishing is available on the farm dams. We have our own More
adventurous activities: Golf, bowls, squash, Abseiling, quad bikes, paint
ball, 4x4 trails, game farms, restaurants, trips into the Transkei,
Hiking trails, paddling, art galleries, craft shops, mountain bikes, lagoons,
